Automated Packaging Machines:
Hogan Pharmacy was the first independent pharmacy in Ontario to develop software integration between a pharmacy software provider and an automated Pac Med packaging machine.
Our most recent upgrade occurred in July 2011. We now use the highest rated automated packaging machine on the market.
Automated technology saves nursing time and reduces errors. Pharmacists and nurses are able to focus more of their time on programs that directly impact the care of our residents
Strip Packaging
Our automated packaging machine quickly and accurately prepares medications in a seven day strip package. Each multi dose pouch contains specific information including the name and room number of the resident, date and time for administration, a physical description of the medication etc.
E-MARS
Hogan Pharmacy will provide e-mars manufactured by CareWorx Inc.
Features of the e-mar:

- No Keyboard-Virtually eliminate the transfer of infection
- Pre-Configured-The e-mar is ready for use right out of the box.

CareWorxs e-mars are fully integrated with point click care software. This will allow long term care homes to:
- Centralize and control access to medical information.
- Automate medication administration process.
- Seamlessly exchange information with Hogan Pharmacy.
- Monitor and manage the distribution of medication
Our e-mars provide automatic alerts to notify front line care workers of missed or overdue medication, recent changes or missing signatures. This results in virtual elimination of errors, improved quality of resident care and increased efficiencies.
E-Pens
We can provide digital pen system for automatic ordering of medications.
Manual faxing of orders can be eliminated. Orders written by the nurse or physician are automatically transmitted by electronic fax as soon as the pen is docked.
The nurses save time, effort, and orders are received with more clarity at the pharmacy.
INR Testing-Hogan Pharmacy is a certified CoaguChek INR testing provider.
